A proprietary technology designed to process Viscogels
The core of the VLM technology consists of the precise lamination of material followed by a controlled photopolymerization. The overlap of state-of-the-art material science, fluid mechanics, photopolymerization, and mechatronics systems enables the only Additive Manufacturing technology capable of processing materials beyond 1,000,000 cP.
The only technology capable of processing materials of unlimited viscosity
Unlike conventional DLP, SLA or MSLA processes, which require low viscosity resins, VLM can handle photopolymers with up to 100 times higher viscosity, resulting in superior mechanical properties and performance.
Viscogels can incorporate a higher concentration of solid additives without needing to compromise for viscosity. Their thicker, paste-like consistency allows for greater particle loading, which enhances the resin’s mechanical properties and results in a stronger, more durable final product. In contrast, low-viscosity resins often sacrifice particle loading for flowability, which dilutes the resin and weakens the final product.
Produce Dual Material Parts
VLM’s mechanical system allows the resin to be laminated from both sides of the film, making it possible to implement strategies to speed up printing times or even to combine different resins to get multi-material parts and easy-to-remove support structures.
Allow the construction of parts using two different materials simultaneously. This means users can seamlessly combine rigid and elastomeric materials within a single build, unlocking the ability to create functional multi-material components without the need for costly overmolding tools.
By using the dedicated breakaway support material, customers expect to achieve excellent surface quality on intricate geometries while significantly reducing the labor and time traditionally required for support removal.
